Will your QR code scan?
Upload any QR code, from any generator. We read it with three independent QR readers in eleven situations a printed code meets in real life, and tell you what fails before you print a thousand of them. It's free.
What the test checks
| Condition | What it stands for |
|---|---|
| Clean, small, tiny | The code printed at normal size, on a business card, and very small |
| Blur, heavy blur | A phone that hasn't focused yet, or a code seen from too far away |
| Rotated, perspective | Scanning at an angle across a table or a poster on a wall |
| Low contrast, uneven light | Faded print, dim restaurants, shadows across the code |
| JPEG, print simulation | Compressed images in emails and social posts; ink spread and paper noise |
The readers are ZXing (used by many Android apps), OpenCV and WeChat's detector. A score of 70 or more means at least one reader succeeds in nearly every condition. Scores are a strong guide, not a promise: always test the final print with two different phones.
