Terms of use
Effective 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
QRPainter (https://qrpainter.com) is operated by SIA HN GROUP, a company registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia under registration number 40203268885, Latvia ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected] or the form at /report/.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By using QRPainter you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you confirm you may bind that business. You must be at least 16 years old.
3. What QRPainter does
QRPainter turns pictures you upload into QR code images and provides short links that redirect people who scan a code to a web address you choose (the "destination"). We store your pictures and destination addresses only to provide this service.
We do not host, create, review or control the websites, files or other content at any destination. A destination is chosen and controlled by the person who made the code. We do not endorse any destination and are not responsible for it.
4. Your content and your links
You are solely responsible for the pictures you upload, the destinations you set, the codes you make, and how and where you print or publish them. You confirm that:
- you own the pictures you upload, or have every licence and permission needed, including for trademarks, logos and images of people;
- your pictures, codes and destinations are lawful in the European Union and wherever you use them, and do not infringe anyone's rights;
- you will keep your destinations lawful and safe for as long as your code is active.
You keep all rights to your pictures. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and render them only to provide and secure the service. This licence ends when the related design or code is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or for security.
5. What you may not do
You may not use QRPainter to create codes or links that lead to or involve:
- phishing, scams, fraud, impersonation, or collecting passwords or payment details under false pretences;
- malware, unwanted software, or anything that harms devices or networks;
- illegal content of any kind, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, hate speech, illegal goods or services, and content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- spam, hidden redirects or deliberately changing a code's destination to evade our checks;
- overloading, scraping, reverse engineering or circumventing limits of the service, except as the law expressly allows.
6. Our role as an intermediary
QRPainter is an intermediary service within the meaning of the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). We store and transmit information provided by users. In line with that regulation:
- we have no general obligation to monitor the pictures, codes or destinations of our users, and we do not do so;
- we are not liable for information provided by users, including destination content, as long as we do not have actual knowledge of illegal activity or content and, on obtaining such knowledge, act expeditiously to remove or disable access to it;
- automated checks we run (for example against Google Safe Browsing, or of whether a destination still loads) are voluntary safety measures and do not make us aware of, or responsible for, any content.
7. Reporting illegal content
Anyone can notify us of a code or content they consider illegal or in breach of these terms through /report/ or by email. Please include the code's short address, why you believe it is illegal and, if you wish, your name and email. We review notices promptly and may disable codes. When we disable a code we tell its owner the reasons where we can reach them, and owners may ask us to review the decision through the same channels. Our point of contact for authorities and users under the Digital Services Act is [email protected], in English or Latvian.
8. Suspending and removing codes
We may disable or delete any code, design or picture, block access, or refuse service, at any time and without prior notice, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the law, puts people at risk, or exposes us to legal claims. We are not liable for any loss that results, including the cost of anything already printed.
9. Scan Scores are a guide, not a guarantee
Scan Scores come from simulated tests with a limited set of QR readers. They do not guarantee that any code will be read by any particular phone, app, printer, material, size or lighting. You are responsible for testing your final printed code before using it, and for any printing costs.
10. Paid plans
- Paid plans apply to a single code. Prices are shown on the pricing page and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive your full card details.
- Pro (monthly or yearly) renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the code's edit page; it stays Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Event is a one-time payment covering 12 months and does not renew.
- When a paid period ends, the code becomes a free code and keeps working under these terms.
- By paying you ask us to start the service immediately. If you are a consumer in the EU, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a payment, for any reason, by contacting us.
- We may change prices for future periods with at least 30 days' notice where we can reach you; changes never apply to a period already paid for.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep codes and short links running and describe our intentions in the never-dead promise. That page states our goals; it is not a guarantee of availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of QRPainter. If we decide to close the service we will give at least 90 days' notice on this website.
12. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, QRPainter is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, accuracy of statistics, and non-infringement.
13. Limits of our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for the cost of printing, reprinting or replacing materials;
- we are not liable for any destination, third-party website or content reached through a code, or for anything users upload or link to;
- our total liability for all claims relating to QRPainter in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and EUR 50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
14. Your responsibility to us
You will compensate SIA HN GROUP and its directors and staff for claims, fines, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your pictures, codes or destinations, or from your breach of these terms or of the law. If you are a consumer, this applies only to the extent permitted by the law of your country.
15. Our rights
QRPainter's software, design and brand belong to SIA HN GROUP. The QR code images you download are yours to use.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes take effect 14 days after we publish them; continuing to use QRPainter after that means you accept them.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Courts of the Republic of Latvia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings there.
